Indoor Soccer

Indoor soccer, as its name suggests, is a version of association football played indoors. It may be played on artificial turf as well as on smooth basketball court surfaces. Though many of the rules are very similar to those of outdoor soccer, there are a few noticeably different aspects to game play.

The field of an indoor soccer arena is surrounded by walls. This allows for the ball to be bounced off the side without going out of bounds. A player can take advantage of this by making passes and taking shots off the wall.

Another significant difference between outdoor and indoor soccer is the size of the pitch. In the indoor version of the sport, the field of play is much smaller. This means that a game can switch much more quickly for a team between offense and defense. This ease of change is also enhanced by the extra bouncing capability for the ball.
